Questions

Do I need prior AI safety knowledge?
Yes. You will be organising and running the group, so a basic understanding of AI safety matters. If you are new to it, start with BlueDot’s courses before you apply.
Which curriculum should we start with?
If your group has no AI safety background, start with AI Safety Atlas. It has no prerequisites. BlueDot Technical AI Safety assumes you know the basics of how neural networks and LLMs are trained.
What does running a group look like week to week?
You run a course at your club or community, in person or online, and discuss AI safety material with your members. There are two tracks: Technical AI Safety and AI Governance. Explore both before you apply.
How much time does it take each week?
As an organiser, expect 3 to 5 hours a week. It depends on how many activities you run. A group doing only weekly readings is at the lower end.
Is there a stipend or funding for organisers?
Yes. Stipends are available for research projects, weekly meetings and food. Details are shared after selection.
Can we call it an official BlueDot or Atlas course?
No. Call it “[Your group]’s course, based on the BlueDot or AI Safety Atlas curriculum”, and credit AI Safety India for the session docs.
